Partner with Sea Base High Adventure and Scouting America to restore Florida’s Coral Reef, the third largest reef tract in the world. Your support of this long-term vision will help revive North America’s only living coral reef and inspire the next generation of environmental leaders and Citizen Scientists.
Florida’s Coral Reef—the only barrier reef in North America and the third largest in the world—is in grave danger. Healthy coral cover has declined by 90 percent in the last 40 years, per NOAA’s Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Many of the corals that make up the beautiful and habitable structures of our reefs are slow-growing species and therefore cannot keep up naturally with this rate of decline.
But there’s hope! Through the Sea Base Coral Restoration Program, Scouts are leading the charge to restore and protect this vital environment.
